A BIT ABOUT THE TWINS

Max and Jerry are identical twin brothers that grew up on a ranch/farm in the middle of South Dakota. They graduated from a one-room country school, which they attended by riding horse back. The success that they have attained individually and together is a result of "good old hard work" that they learned as youngsters on the farm. Even today in their business, a "hand shake" or a "promise" is as good as a contract.

Dr. Max Durgin was a professor of mathematics at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota for 37 years.

Max earned his Doctorate of Mathematics early in life which gave him a long career of doing what he loved. He retired from the University in May of 2002 with the highest honors provided by the board of regents. He retired with the status of "Professor Emeritus."

Jerry Durgin was a former computer programmer on the Apollo Moon Mission at Cape Kennedy/Canaveral. Jerry is proud to have been a member of the first team to put a man on the moon.

While working at the Cape, Jerry went through another learning experience similiar to the one he learned on the farm as a youngster. He learned to never turn down a challenge and he could accomplish tasks that had never before been accomplished by mankind. He has some great stories from his working experience at the Cape, and often shares them with users at the annual D-Ware users meeting.

After his time at the Cape, Jerry went on to work for ARCO as a Software Engineer in Montana, Wyoming and Nevada. While working for ARCO, Jerry invented and won a patent for a system of Radio Frequency Surveying. For more information about Jerry's patent, click HERE.

Max and Jerry began writing and marketing software for county highway departments in the early 1980's. They became incorporated in 1983 and this was the beginning of their company, D-Ware, Inc.
